What moderation looks like here.

pste is anonymous-first, but it isn't unmoderated. Every public or unlisted paste has a report button; reports go to a manual review queue. These are the live, aggregate numbers — no IP addresses, no paste contents, no reporter identities. Just counts.

How takedowns work

A report is actioned when a human reviews it and removes the paste — the database row, the stored blob, and any cached preview image are all deleted. We do not soft-delete.

When the content is clearly abusive (malware, phishing, CSAM), its SHA-256 hash is added to an upload blocklist so the exact same content can't be re-posted. That is the 0 figure above. End-to-end encrypted pastes can't be hash-blocked — the server only ever sees ciphertext — so abuse handling for those is necessarily report-and-remove only.

Legal requests (DMCA, law-enforcement) are handled per the terms and DMCA policy. We can only act on data we actually hold — for E2E pastes, that is ciphertext and nothing else.
