Terms of use
Draft — last updated 2026-05-12.
pste is a free pastebin for text. By creating or viewing a paste you accept the terms below. If you don't, don't use the service.
What pste does
- Stores the text you submit and serves it back at a short URL.
- Holds pastes for the expiry you choose (max 30 days for anonymous users).
- Lets you mark a paste as end-to-end encrypted, in which case we only see ciphertext.
- Lets you delete a paste with the token shown at creation.
What you agree not to paste
- Content that's illegal where it is hosted (Germany) or where you are.
- Child sexual abuse material — zero tolerance, reported to authorities.
- Malware, exploit kits, or payloads intended to harm third parties.
- Phishing pages, scam landing pages, or links to either.
- Personal data about other people (doxxing, leaked credentials of others, etc.).
- Content you don't have the right to share. See DMCA.
What we may do
- Delete any paste that violates the above, with or without notice, at our discretion. Reports are reviewed by a human; we don't auto-take-down.
- Rate-limit, block, or refuse service from IPs we believe are abusing the system.
- Add the SHA-256 hash of a removed paste to a blocklist so the same content can't be re-uploaded. For end-to-end encrypted pastes the server only ever sees ciphertext, so hash-blocking does not apply.
No warranty
pste is provided "as is." We make no promises about availability, durability, or that your paste will still be here when you check tomorrow. Don't use pste as your only copy of anything you care about.
Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, the operator's liability arising from your use of pste is limited to what you have paid for the service — which is zero.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage or in release notes before they take effect.
